The House of Ball boutique vineyard is situated on the western slopes of the Waipara Valley on a reasonably steep site which faces east to maximise the exposure to the early morning sun.

Our 2 acre vineyard sits 100m above the valley floor and is comprised of 3000 plants made up of seven varieties.

Riesling (546 plants)
Gruner Veltliner (546 plants)
Gewurztraminer ( 288 plants)
Chardonnay (288 plants)
Pinot Noir (624 plants)
Pinotage (336 plants)
Tempranillo (288 plants)

The spread of varieties and small plant numbers mean we can do all the plant work by hand ourselves, which gives the vineyard a high degree of consistent attention to detail and we believe this is reflected in the wine we produce.

We hand pick all our fruit and we only use grapes grown on the estate . We use a basket press and try to keep winemaker intervention to a minimum.
